Avtron Power Solutions will create 150 new jobs and retain 285 positions in the Cleveland area, JobsOhio announced Monday, as the power-testing equipment maker scales up manufacturing in Valley View and Seven Hills.

The company, a business unit of Legrand, makes load banks — equipment that verifies the reliability of backup generators and power systems. The expansion adds 12 new product lines to serve a growing customer base, as demand for reliable and resilient power continues to rise, JobsOhio said.

The Ohio Department of Development approved the project for tax credit assistance during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting on Monday. The project was secured through the combined efforts of the Village of Valley View, the City of Seven Hills, Cuyahoga County, the Ohio Department of Development, JobsOhio and Team NEO.

“Since its founding in the 1950's, Avtron has called Northeast Ohio home,” said Zac Bridgeman, the company's vice president and general manager. “Through hiring, expanding production footprint, and increased localized purchases, Avtron continues to invest in the region.” JobsOhio president and CEO J.P. Nauseef called the expansion “a strong example of an Ohio manufacturer growing alongside some of the world's fastest-moving industries.”
