Two family members dead in possible murder-suicide in Delaware, Ohio
Photo: VecteezyA man and a woman died Friday morning in a shooting at a home on Exeter Drive in Delaware, Ohio, that police say appears to have been a possible murder-suicide. Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident involving the people in the home, and there is no threat to the community.
Delaware police responded to a report of a shooting just after 7 a.m. Friday at a home on Exeter Drive, according to a department news release. A 911 caller reported that one family member had shot another family member before shooting themself.
Officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. A man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a woman was taken by the Delaware Fire Department to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, police said.
Investigators from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and personnel from the Delaware County Coroner's Office are assisting with the investigation. Police said they expect to remain at the scene for several hours while the investigation continues.
Police have not released the names of the two people who died. The shooting remains under investigation.
