Forgent picks downtown Columbus for 85-job corporate hub
Editorial illustration — Press Pass USAForgent Power Solutions has selected downtown Columbus for a corporate office expansion that will create 85 jobs and $12 million in new annual payroll, JobsOhio announced.
The electrical-distribution equipment maker will invest $3 million to build out 90,000 square feet at 10 W. Nationwide Blvd. under a 10-year lease. The office will house customer support and corporate functions — project management, supply chain, finance, human resources and corporate strategy — alongside the company's existing Ohio team, including its Ohio-based CEO, Gary Niederpruem.
“Columbus offers exceptional talent and proximity to key customers, making it an ideal location for our continued growth,” Niederpruem said. “As an Ohio native, I'm proud to invest in a city that will play an important role powering the future.” Forgent designs and manufactures electrical distribution equipment used in data centers, the power grid and energy-intensive industrial facilities.
The company employs about 3,000 people across 10 manufacturing campuses in North America, reported $1.42 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue — up 89% from the prior year — and entered fiscal 2027 with a record $3 billion order backlog, according to JobsOhio. The announcement is a hiring commitment, not yet a completed move: the jobs are to be created as the office is built out.
