Oregon pulled off one of the most stunning wins of the college football season on Saturday, reeling off 38 straight points to beat Ohio State 41-28 at Ohio Stadium and hand the Buckeyes a three-loss regular season for the first time since 2011.

Ohio State looked in control early, jumping out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead on two touchdown runs by Bo Jackson. Then the game flipped. Late in the second quarter, Oregon converted a fake punt — defensive end Teitum Tuioti throwing to fellow defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei for a 30-yard gain — and Dierre Hill Jr. scored five plays later to cut the lead to 14-10.

Freshman quarterback Luke Fahey then threw an interception into triple coverage, and on the final play of the first half, Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson took a direct snap and powered into the end zone to give the Ducks a 17-14 halftime lead.

It only got worse for the Buckeyes after the break. Hill ran for a 48-yard touchdown less than two minutes into the second half, and Dylan Raiola lofted an 11-yard touchdown pass that Dakorien Moore caught with one hand to make it 31-14. A Brandon Smith screen-pass touchdown early in the fourth quarter stretched the lead to 38-14 and sent Buckeye fans streaming for the exits.

Raiola, Oregon's backup quarterback, finished 25 of 40 for 257 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Hill ran for 75 yards and two touchdowns, and the Ducks put up 395 yards of total offense, scoring on their last nine drives of the game. "We're like cockroaches, man. We won't die," Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said after the win.

Ohio State's offense, meanwhile, went stagnant without starting quarterback Julian Sayin. During Oregon's scoring barrage, the Buckeyes gained just 74 yards on 40 plays across eight drives, went 0 for 4 on fourth down and failed to score in the last two minutes of the first half for the first time all season. Fahey finished 36 of 50 for 360 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Jeremiah Smith caught seven passes for 133 yards and a touchdown, becoming the program's all-time leader with 16 games of 100 or more receiving yards.

The loss is Ohio State's second straight defeat and its first back-to-back regular-season losses since 2011. It also ends the Buckeyes' 12-game home winning streak. Ohio State entered the week ranked 12th in the initial College Football Playoff projection; the loss should all but end its playoff chances, with the Buckeyes now needing to win their final three regular-season games to have any hope. Ohio State hosts Northwestern next, kicking off at noon and televised by FOX.
