Vice President JD Vance returned to his home state Wednesday for a full day of campaigning in Greater Cincinnati, headlining a midterm rally in Sharonville for U.S. Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy — days after President Trump held his own rally in Northern Kentucky.

Speaking before hundreds of supporters at the Sharonville Convention Center, Vance railed against Ohio's Democratic candidates and praised Republicans, as the crowd broke into chants of "USA! USA!" He also addressed a controversial Ramaswamy campaign ad about Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, telling fellow Republicans to "stop whining" about it.

Vance's day began at the FBI field office in Sycamore Township, where he appeared alongside U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche to discuss fraud in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Blanche said the federal government has uncovered $42 million in SNAP fraud since investigators began looking more intensely on September 1. Vance recalled his first job as a cashier in his native Middletown and said the program exists to "help hungry children eat" — not as a fund for people to steal from.

The vice president also made a surprise stop at the Cincinnati Bengals' practice ahead of Sunday's AFC North clash with the Baltimore Ravens. It was Vance's second trip to Ohio this month — he was last in the state October 9, voting early at the Hamilton County Board of Elections. With Ohio's governor's race and Senate seat both in play, Trump is expected back in the state with a rally in Chillicothe on October 28.
