Himanshu Bhau — whose real name is Himanshu Ritoliya, from Rohtak in the Indian state of Haryana — has been the subject of an Interpol Red Notice since August 2023 and is wanted in India in 18 cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, intimidation and forgery, according to Indian officials cited in the reporting.
The U.S. government's online detainee locator, checked Friday night, lists two Indian-born men — Himanshu Sigroha and Neeraj Kaushik — in ICE custody at the Henderson Detention Center outside Las Vegas. Officials say the two men are Bhau and his associate Neeraj Faridpuria. Their cases are handled by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Las Vegas.
Faridpuria was picked up after he removed an ankle monitor, according to the reports; he had been detained earlier this year and released on bail. No U.S. criminal charges against either man have been found in public records, and neither ICE nor the FBI has issued a public statement on the arrests. India is seeking to expedite deportation proceedings, and whether Bhau fights removal through asylum or other relief claims will decide how quickly he returns.
