A Russian drone struck a residential building in Synelnykove, in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on Saturday, killing three people and injuring 12 others, regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said.

The drone set a fire on the building's fourth floor and damaged nearby cars and a store, Hanzha said. Among the wounded was an 11-year-old girl. Five of the injured were taken to hospital, with three — two women and one man — in serious condition and undergoing surgery.

The strike was part of a wider wave of overnight attacks: a jet-powered drone killed one person in Kharkiv's Novobavarskyi district, two women were killed in attacks on Nikopol district, and Kharkiv's Epikenter shopping center was destroyed in a separate strike, according to Ukrainian outlets and regional officials. Into Sunday, the exchanges continued — one person was killed and 10 injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Belgorod, while one person was killed and three wounded in a Russian strike on Kharkiv.

According to the Kyiv Independent, Russia has intensified its aerial bombardments across Ukraine in October, targeting the country's power grid as winter temperatures begin to drop.
